Directions Magazine has conducted a poll among its readers this month “asking who they believe are, and will be, the most influential people in the geospatial industry over the next five years.”1 AGIO’s very own State GIS Program Manager Learon Dalby, who is also President of the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC), ranked 8th out of 22 nominees nationwide. One reader commented that Learon “has the effective communications and management skills of a true leader, and has worked across all sectors to champion a new vision for the NSDI.”
Learon states that he is “humbled” to be included in the top 10 list of geospatial leaders. “Any success I have or will have will be the work of the Arkansas GIS Community, dedicated staff and the opportunity to be a part of NSGIC,” says Learon.
