The Arkansas GIS Office is pleased to announce that we have published an updated Fire Station dataset to the Arkansas Spatial Data Infrastructure. This dataset was initially sourced from the Fire Portal at arfire.arkansas.gov and supplemented with data provided by Farm Bureau as part of an effort to improve the accuracy of the available Fire Station data.  The validation process consisted of the Arkansas GIS Office coordinating with each County Fire Coordinator and/or Fire Department to ensure the location and currency of the Fire Station location data within their respective Counties/Fire Districts. Additionally, we updated attributes such as physical and mailing address where applicable and able. This dataset represents the most comprehensive review of Fire Station data to date and would not have been possible without the data provided by Farm Bureau or without the assistance of our County Fire Coordinators.  As such we would like to pass along our appreciation to both.  To download or read more please see below.
