Cadastral Mapping Standard Revision – Opportunity for Comment
In accordance with A.C.A. § 25-15-204, the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Board will invite public comment on revisions to the Arkansas Cadastral Mapping Standard. The Cadastral Mapping Standard was first promulgated as a state rule July 2, 2004, and this data standard is intended to make digital cadastral data more uniform and to facilitate the sharing of a statewide seamless tax parcel spatial data layer. These data are created locally by individual counties then shared with the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Office for publication into an aggregated collection of the whole state. Therefore, it is essential for all those involved in the process to utilize a common structure.
The proposed revision can be viewed HERE. The public comment period begins August 1, 2019, and will end August 31. Written comments must be submitted via standard mail or email to Jonathan Duran, Deputy Director, Arkansas GIS Office, 1 Capitol Mall, Ste 6D, Little Rock, AR 72201 or jonathan.duran@arkansas.gov. Normal office hours for the Arkansas GIS Office are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding recognized state holidays. In order for the agency to properly organize and report all public comments, the commenter’s name must be included. Please reference “Arkansas Cadastral Mapping Standard” in all correspondence.
