Governor Hutchinson Announces Appointments to State GIS Board
LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson announced the following appointments to the State GIS Board on August 12, 2015.
Anthony Davis, of Little Rock, whose appointment expires August 1, 2018, replaces Matthew Hodges. Anthony serves as the Software Manager for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
Danny Games, of Little Rock, whose appointment expires August 1, 2018, replaces Grant Tennille. Danny serves as the Deputy Director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
Russell Gibson, of Fort Smith, whose appointment expires August 1, 2018, replaces the late Judge Clayton Castleman. Russell serves as the Director of Information and Technology Services for the City of Fort Smith.
Upon hearing the news of the appointments, Shelby Johnson, the state’s Geographic Information Officer, said “The choices Governor Hutchinson made to guide the work of the Board and this Office are excellent! They are more than qualified. Between the three of them we are probably adding 40 years of combined GIS experience.” With these three appointments, all 13 positions required by the Board’s enabling language become filled.
The new appointees will attend their first meeting at the upcoming GIS Board Meeting on September 2, 2015 at 1:30pm at the Marriot Hotel & Convention Center in Little Rock.
