Governor Announces State GIS Board Appointments
LITTLE ROCK – Governor Mike Beebe today announced the following appointments to the State Geographic Information Systems Board:
Dr. Jackson Cothren, Fayetteville, reappointed to the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Board. Appointment expires August 1, 2017.
Dr. Margaret McMillan, Little Rock, reappointed to the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Board. Appointment expires August 1, 2017.
Amy Whitehead, Conway, to the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Board. Appointment expires August 1, 2017. Replaces Dr. Robert Kissell. Kissell served two full terms on the Board was no longer eligible for reappointment.
Shelby Johnson, State Geographic Information Officer said, “Even though Dr. Kissell is not on the Board we know he will continue serving the GIS community in the state. He provided a lot of direction and insight to the Board during his eight years of service. It will be great to continue working with Dr. Cothren and Dr. McMillan another four years and their service gives us good continuity. We look forward to working with Amy Whitehead, who has some unique community development experience.”
All three members will represent Higher Education institutions in Arkansas.
