Possible Federal Funding for Local GIS Projects

The federal government is competitively awarding over $700 million dollars in grants to local governments in February 2011. According to the ICMA’s Center for Sustainable Communities article “New Federal Funding for Local Governments,” by Keith Strigaro, the funding will be available for a variety of local sustainability efforts, including housing and urban development, transportation, and environmental protection.
