Wes began his GIS career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District while completing his B.S. in Geography at the University of Central Arkansas. During his time with the Corps, Wes worked in both the Planning and Environmental and Real Estate Divisions. His initial position involved remote sensing, database creation and maintenance, feature extraction, and SDS data formatting for USACE controlled properties. He also assisted as a point of contact for GIS troubleshooting within the Little Rock District.
In 2010, he began working for the Real Estate Division to take part in the Military Installation Mapping Project for the Department of the Army. While simultaneously working on his Masters degree in GIS through the University of Central Arkansas, Wes was involved with multiple facets of the project, including coordination, organization, planning, historical deed research, cadastral mapping, remote sensing, and map design. He also presented an overview of the project to Little Rock District GIS users in a teaching/workshop capacity, and authored a detailed guide of how the project was conducted by the Little Rock District Real Estate Division to be distributed to all participating Corps of Engineers Districts across the nation.
In 2012, Wes briefly took on a position as Graduate Assistant at the University of Central Arkansas conducting economic development and flood plain analyses before joining AGIO as a contractor in 2013. During his time with AGIO, he has worked on the cadastral mapping project as quality control and assurance, the Connect Arkansas project performing address point verification, and centerline processing and maintenance.
Wes is a native of Pangburn, Arkansas, and spends his spare time playing softball and visiting with family.
